Week 6
The last few weeks have been and unbridled disaster of field testing attempts. I have been trying to create the main characters sprite. My original idea was that I would take photos of myself and convert them into Piskel, compress them and then update the colours the better affect the character.
Taking the photos went really well. Although a little bit embarrassing at times they were overall a great, hilarious and fun experience to take. It really makes me want to create an old-fashioned “realistic platformer” of the likes of the original “Prince of Persia”
This method didn’t end up working well, What really made it fall apart was the compression methods. The sprites just wouldn't turn out anything close to what was planned. I am going to take a break off working on sprites as I feel I have been working on them for a very long time. As I do some work on my game I will take time to think about a new method I can use.
