Week 17


This week has been the final week of development. I have found that through testing a lot of people were having difficulty getting to the end of level that dying so I decided to add the checkpoints which were always in the plan however I didn’t deem necessary. As I am quite short for time I took a quicker method of doing the checkpoints which unfortunately led to the issue that music would restart. I decided to then come up with an in game reason for that which was that the checkpoint sprite had a friend which was a jukebox. I thought this was a cute in game reason for what would otherwise be an issue. I also think the sprite turned out the best out of anything in the game. A

 bug I came across during development was that the game would crash after the player died, This was due to the fact that I that the enemies had nothing to chase any more. I then took what I learnt from checking if the player was on the ground and decided to attach a game object to the player that they would then chase this wouldn’t be deleted with the player when he died thus resolving the issue.

I continued updating throughout the week. With the published the final build and with the publishing of this blog post the game will be complete and the final build is up on itch.io.
