The Use of Affiliate Marketing (Including Discussion Of An Example Of Affiliate Marketing)

Affiliate marketing is advertising your product through A third-party source. The major way of doing this within the game industry is through having popular personalities play through your game or having reviews release.

An example of this would be Raid Shadow Legends which in the last couple of years has grown infamous for being sponsors on almost every YouTube video. The game clearly does well as it is always at the top of the App Store and the company generates money however having such a large marketing campaign does require a large marketing budget. Raids’ marketing budget is roughly $2 million a week (McCarty, 2021). The game is criticised for its predatory practices in making money (McCarty, 2021) however that is standard within its genre. The game manages to spend a ludicrous amount on marking every single week however it always manages to make it back.

As shown by Raid Shadow Legends it is possible to utilise affiliate marketing to make a profit however I can bring a negative stigma. This method can also be very costly.
