Three Web Marketing Techniques


Throughout this piece I will be discussing three techniques used in web marketing. Including:

 AIDA - AIDA stands for attention, interest, desire and action (Connick, 2019). Which are the four most important parts in marketing. In order these mean to:

  • Make the consumer aware of your product
  • Increase the consumers interest within your product
  • Make them wish to own your products
  • Finalise the sale of your product

This whole process is vital in marketing any product Including games.

Content Marketing - this is a good way to make consumers aware of your product, these are supplementary materials that are made to market your product while standing on their own as creative expression (What is Content Marketing?, 2021). A good example of this is the “Meet The” series for Team Fortress 2. This was a series of short films made to display each of the characters. They all garnered millions of views and served as a great way to market the game.

Display Media Advertising – this is a major method in attracting users on web based platforms, it is usually dome through banner ads, pop-ups and video advertisements (Whatley, 2019). They are the most standard form of advertising however they are still effective.
